Introduction

We have curated some free resources for all hackathon participants in collaboration with our sponsors and patrons. Consider using these contextual tools and resources for competing in the event.

Tools and Technologies

WEB3

  • MetaMask is a crypto wallet that can be used in a web browser and on mobile devices to interact with the Ethereum blockchain. It allows you to run Ethereum Dapps (Decentralized Apps) right in your browser without running a full Ethereum node. Create one by following these steps: https://docs.polygon.technology/docs/develop/metamask/hello

  • Thirdweb: your guide to building smart contracts, tokens, artwork, and more: https://thirdweb.com/dashboard
With this platform, you can launch NFT's, create marketplaces, introduce new social tokens, create packs of NFTs and more. You do this with team permissions, custom royalty splits and SDKs in languages you're comfortable with: Javascript, Typescript, Python, Golang, Unity.

Contact Us & Support Channels

What kind of support is there?

There are a variety of tools that you can use this weekend. We recommend looking into all of the options available. Here is our list of strongly suggested resources for participants:

  • Join the public Discord channel - This open forum messenger will be LIVE throughout the event for all your questions, concerns, and new friendly connections!  Use this channel to find local teams, track all event announcements, or ask for help:  https://discord.gg/GfS9z6QugG

  • Team Assignments, Registrations, & Project Submissions - Code for all projects should be sent to the main website’s DEVPOST under an approved permissive open source license. Locate the DEVPOST link for uploading your project code on the hackathon competition website: cunyvirtualhackathon.devpost.com

Pitch & Video Demonstrations - A short pitch support workshop will take place virtually during the hackathon event. See the Event Schedule on page 11 for more details.

Manage your time wisely! Review the f
ull event schedule on page 11 and follow this nifty diagram on how pitches will work.  Each team has 90 seconds to pitch their solutions by video recording.  The finalists will then be selected to do a two (2) minute live presentation followed by three (3) minutes of questions from judges. The same concept applies to both rounds- You are pitching your solutions to real-world problems.
